It Started With Gear That Let Us Down
We were deep in Utah's Desolation Canyon, running the Green River on a hunting trip that had already pushed us to the limit. The raft was overloaded. Dry bags where everything ended up at the bottom, unreachable. Dry boxes that were either overpriced or beat-up secondhand gambles. Every stop meant working around the gear.
Somewhere around day three—soaked, freezing, and frustrated—it hit us: Gear should work with the backcountry, not against it. We tried to save money in the wrong places. But when we looked at the gear we should've bought? That didn't make sense either.
That's why Deso Gear exists. We were tired of the choice between under-built gear and over-priced brands. We set out to provide the gear we wished we had on that river: IP65-rated rotomolded dry boxes and submersible duffels purpose-built for the demands of backcountry hunting, multi-day river running, and remote fishing expeditions. This is the gear that won't let you down.
“The canyon doesn’t care what you paid. It only respects what actually works.”
Our Mission Is Simple
Gear that doesn't get in the way.
Rotomolded boxes that take a beating.
Dry bags that stay dry when it matters.
A modular system that adapts to your rig, not the other way around.
We're not here for the gram. We're here for mud-slick boots, river runs, and miles past the trailhead. For the moment things go sideways and your gear either works or it doesn't.
And we're not done. Every trip shows us what else needs to exist. Gear that's still overpriced, accessories that should exist but don't, categories where nobody's building anything worth buying. We'll keep finding the gaps and filling them the right way.
What We Stand For

Honest Over Hyped
If it doesn’t work in the field, we don’t sell it. Period.

Canyon Tested
We don’t test in labs. We test where it matters: rivers, trails, backroads.

Worth the Weight
Every ounce you carry should earn its place. Every dollar you spend should pay you back in reliability.
We’re Not a Marketing Team. We’re the End Users.
We’re the people who take the long way home. River runners. Trail chasers. Weekend warriors who refuse to let bad gear ruin a good trip.
We got sick of failure. So we built the gear we needed:
Stuff that doesn’t quit. Doesn’t leak. Doesn’t force compromises.
Rotomolded. Modular. Ready for the canyon, the rain, the scrape, and the silence between cell signals.
That’s Deso Gear.
